Dr. Charlie Ann Morehead is a board-certified pediatrician and the proud owner of Country Kids Pediatrics, which she founded in January 2022. She was born and raised in Wilson County Texas and is an alumni of Sacred Heart Catholic School and Floresville High School. With a passion for providing high-quality, compassionate care, Dr. Morehead is dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of children from infancy through adolescence.
Dr. Morehead graduated from Texas A&M University in 2005 and earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Galveston in 2009. She completed her pediatric internship at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin, Texas, before relocating to Macon, Georgia, with her husband, Dr. Preston Morehead. Together, they made Macon their home for 5 years, where Dr. Morehead completed her pediatric residency at Navicent Health, associated with Mercer University School of Medicine. Her family then returned back to their home in Texas.
As a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), Dr. Morehead is committed to staying at the forefront of pediatric care. She focuses on prevention, early intervention, and creating individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each child. Her clinical interests include childhood development, immunizations, chronic conditions and all that pediatrics involves.
In her personal life, Dr. Morehead is a devoted wife and mother. She has been married to Dr. Preston Morehead since 2009 and is the proud mother of Aubrie and Eli. Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Morehead enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family. She also has a special love for animals, including her beloved Cavapoo, Scout, who is her daily companion.
As the owner of Country Kids Pediatrics, Dr. Morehead is excited to serve South Texas by providing exceptional care and making a lasting impact on the lives of the children and families she serves.
